Balakulandjan

As part of the Soli family of rhythms, Balakulandjan is one of the many initiation rhythms played in West Africa. It comes from the Malinke ethnic group in the Kouroussa region of Northeast Guinea. Musically it is very similar to Moribayassa — the kenkeni & dunumba parts are identical; while the second djembe part for Balakulandjan differs only a little from the first djembe part for Moribayassa.
